October GRS Census
The October 2011 census has now closed.  Results are currently being analysed and will be published shortly.

New Planning and Productivity Tool In response to the Department of Health letter to Chief Executives on 'Campaigns to Promote earlier Diagnosis of Cancer' (August 2011), the Joint Advisory Group on GI (JAG) has been developing a new Planning and Productivity Tool.  This will enable services to operate more productively by improved management of demand and efficient booking.  The new tool is now available on the GRS website in time for the October census and units are urged to use the tool before submitting their October census return.  A pack of additional information including a Userguide and demo slides can be found on the Download section, under Planning and Productivity on the JAG website.

Reprocessing of flexible endoscopes (previously HTM/01/06)  The final short consultation period for the draft Reprocessing of flexible endoscopes - management and decontamination CFPP 01/06 (previously HTM 01/06) has been announced and the approved document is expected shortly afterwards.  If you are currently replanning your service, particularly around decontamination, and wish to know if it would be compliant within the draft guidance, please contact Olive.Collier@rcplondon.ac.uk for advice.  Once issued, the approved guidance will be available on this website with advice on any significant changes to practice for your service.

  Introduction

Welcome!

Introducing the Global Rating Scale (GRS)
The GRS was originally created in 2004 as a quality improvement and assessment tool for the gastrointestinal endoscopy service.  The GRS is a tool that enables endoscopy units to assess how well they provide a patient-centred service .In addition it has workforce and training domains, It is a web-based assessment tool that makes a series of statements requiring a yes or no answer.

The GRS is now managed by the Joint Advisory Group for GI Endoscopy (JAG).  For enquiries, please contact askgrs@rcplondon.ac.uk
